“Lydie is named after a woman I recently met for the first time: my great-grandfather's aunt by marriage, whose story became intertwined with my family's in the 1970s. Meeting her opened a door onto a part of my family history I had never known. Through her, people, stories and connections that had remained out of sight suddenly came into focus. This piece carries that sense of discovery: the idea that a single encounter can reveal an entire world, connecting people and stories across generations.” Sophie Inard
