Sport and Spectator

The Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art presents Sport and Spectator, an exhibition exploring the cultural, political, and symbolic dimensions of sport.

Shown in Kansas City during the city’s hosting of the FIFA World Cup, the exhibition brings together Sophie Inard and international artists whose work examines sport as a site of power, identity, and collective experience.

Biennale Objet Textile n°5

The Biennale Objet Textile is a major contemporary art event dedicated to textile-based practices, highlighting experimental approaches and innovative uses of materials.

As part of the Biennale, Sophie Inard presents a new monumental work at La Manufacture de Roubaix, exploring the transformation of powerful sporting symbols through textile intervention.

For this Biennale, Sophie Inard presents Soft Power a monumental football (80cm diameter) made of vintage methacrylate sphere and recycled yarn.

Bastille Art Prize

The Bastille Art Prize is an annual award recognizing contemporary artists whose work demonstrates a strong conceptual approach and a distinctive artistic language.

Selected by a professional jury, the winners are presented by Galerie Bessaud, which supports the development and visibility of their work through exhibitions and curatorial guidance.

For its 1st edition, the Bastille Art Prize selected Sophie Inard, Clara Tournay, Laura Mateare, Valentine Dardel, Valentina Grilli, and Anne-Juliette Deschamps’ works.

WHAT ARE YOU FIGHTING FOR?

In 2026, Sophie Inard takes part in the group exhibition “What Are You Fighting For?” at MAINTENANT, an art and fighting laboratory based in the Texas desert that explores the relationship between art, resistance, and physical engagement.

For the exhibition, Sophie Inard presents a crocheted boxing glove sculpture that continues her exploration of strength, protection, and vulnerability through textile transformation.

Variations Textiles XXL

Sophie Inard takes part in the collective exhibition “Les Variations Textiles XXL” presented by OpenBach in collaboration with the City of Fontenay-sous-Bois. Bringing together more than 160 international textile artists, the exhibition explores contemporary textile practices through immersive and monumental works presented in the 650m² space of La Nef de la Halle Roublot. For the exhibition, Sophie Inard presents 2 textile skateboard pieces inspired by the worlds of speed, spectacle, and performance.
